Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and who doesn’t love a homemade Valentine? Whether you're planning for a romantic gesture or a thoughtful gift for a friend or family member, DIY gifts show that you’ve put in the time and effort. I’ve collected all of my favorite and EASY Valentine’s Day projects to share with you—hopefully, they’ll inspire your creative side!
Homemade Chocolates
Valentine’s Day and chocolate—name a more iconic duo! But why not take it up a notch and customize your chocolates? I know it might sound like extra work, but it’s actually easier than you think.
I recommend using an Iron Orchid Designs mould. These moulds are perfect for crafting with air-dry clay or resin, but did you know you can also use them for chocolates? Yep! They’re food-safe, can withstand temperatures up to 425°F, and are super easy to work with.

Homemade Valentines
Why buy a store-bought Valentine when you can make your own? And with a few simple supplies, you can really elevate your Valentine’s Day cards.
To make your cards stand out, consider using stencils or stamps. My personal favorites are the JRV Mini Valentine Stencils—they’re the perfect size for cards, and there are so many cute designs to choose from! And since JRV stencils are five times thicker than most, you can use them again and again without worrying about wear and tear.
If you’re looking for a more sophisticated touch, Iron Orchid Designs stamps are a great option. The intricate details make your cards look like professional artwork. Plus, you can color them in with colored pencils or watercolors for an added pop. These projects are so simple, even kids can join in on the fun!
Dollar Store Boxes Upcycled
Need a last-minute Valentine’s gift? Head to your local dollar store and pick up a cute heart-shaped box. I transformed mine by adding scraps of my Iron Orchid Designs transfers on the lid, then sealing everything with DIY Paint Big Top.
This project is quick, affordable, and adorable! You can see the full transformation in the video below.
Dollar Store Hearts
While you're at the dollar store, keep your eyes peeled for wooden heart shapes. Last year, I found a bunch, so I added Iron Orchid Designs moulds with air-dry clay, painted them with DIY Paint, and topped them with a little Golden Ticket for some sparkle.
These cute little hearts are perfect for decorating packages, creating a Valentine’s Day garland, or even as ornaments on a themed tree. Want to see how it all comes together? Check out the tutorial below.
Scrap Wood Sign
Looking for another fun idea? I love using scrap wood to make signs for any occasion, and Valentine’s Day is no exception! This sign was made with DIY Paint in Kissing Booth, my JRV I Love You Stencil, and leftover IOD Transfers. To finish it off, I sealed everything with my favorite DIY Paint Big Top.
The best part about making signs is that the possibilities are endless—let your imagination run wild!
I hope these easy ideas inspire you to make something special for Valentine’s Day this year. Whether you’re making chocolates, cards, or upcycled gifts, there’s no limit to the creative ways you can show you care.
