Antique Booth Reset Curbside Rescue DIY Paint Gingerbread House Holiday Decor Inspiration

🏠 From Curbside Rescue to Gingerbread Dream: My Holiday Booth Reset + Dollhouse Makeover 🍭

Every once in a while, I spot something on the curb that makes my heart skip a beat — and this time it was a little dollhouse. Old, worn, missing pieces, and definitely past its prime… but I could already see the potential. With the holidays around the corner, I decided to give this little house a second life — as a gingerbread house!

🎨 Giving the Dollhouse a Sweet Makeover

I started by cleaning up the dollhouse and giving it a fresh coat of DIY Paint. I wanted that perfect frosting look, so I used DIY Paint in White Swan with DIY Paint Frosting, which gives the texture of real icing.

To add the “candy” details, I reached for my favorite Iron Orchid Designs (IOD) Moulds. These moulds are magic — they can turn plain clay or resin into vintage-inspired trims, gingerbread details, and sweet little accents that make the whole piece come alive.

Piece by piece, I built my gingerbread house… and let me tell you, this project was pure joy!

🛍️ Finding Inspiration at the Livingston Antique Outlet

Before I tackled my own booth reset, I took a little road trip to Livingston Antique Outlet Mall in Howell, Michigan. If you’ve never been, it’s full of creative booths and amazing displays — the perfect place to get inspiration for holiday merchandising.

I left with a camera roll full of ideas (and maybe a few vintage treasures in my trunk 😉).

🎄 Holiday Reset at My Booth in Plaza Antiques

Back home at Plaza Antiques in Lincoln Park, MI, it was time to bring that inspiration to life. I cleared out my fall display and gave the booth a full holiday reset — twinkling lights, vintage ornaments, cozy textiles, and handmade touches everywhere you look.

There’s something so magical about a booth dressed for Christmas. It’s nostalgic, warm, and full of stories — just like the vintage pieces we love.
